Our Milestones

2023

February 2023

Komodo demonstrates the first atomic swap between DigiByte (DGB) and Bitcoin (BTC) on the Lightning Network via its DEX API.

March 2023

Komodo holds its first-ever community-wide governance vote. By voting on Komodo Improvement Proposal 0001 (KIP0001), the community chose to reduce the $KMD active user reward (AUR) from 5.1% to 0.01%.

April 2023

Komodo Zebra (a.k.a. Kebra) — a 2nd Generation, Rust-Based Node Implementation — reaches alpha state.

July 2023

Komodo launches Komodo SDK and renames "AtomicDEX" to "Komodo Wallet", along with several product name updates as part of its brand unification.

December 2023

The KMD burn program goes live. Now, each time someone trades KMD on Komodo Wallet’s DEX as a market taker, 25% of the DEX transaction fee goes towards automatically burning KMD.

December 2023

Komodo Wallet (web) introduces a fiat on-ramp, supporting two service providers: Ramp and Banxa. This feature makes it easy to purchase crypto with fiat currency.

December 2023

NFT wallet support goes live on Komodo Wallet (web), integrating the ERC721 and ERC1155 token standards. Supported blockchains for NFTs include Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, and Fantom.

2022

January 2022

AtomicDEX Desktop v0.5.4 integrates 13 blockchain protocols: Avalanche, Polygon, Harmony, Fantom, smartBCH, Ethereum Classic, Moonriver, KuCoin Community Chain, Huobi ECO Chain, Flux, Ubiq, Arbitrum (wallet only), and Optimism (wallet only).

November 2022

AtomicDEX Desktop v0.5.7 integrates two new blockchain protocols — Pirate Chain (ARRR) and Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP) — as well as 47 new crypto listings and app enhancements.

November 2022

After nearly a year of internal testing, AtomicDEX Web launches as the first DEX that enables users to run a P2P node in a web browser. AtomicDEX Web is accessible on any browser, device, or OS. This release adds Trezor wallet support.

December 2022

AtomicDEX Mobile is publicly listed on Google Play, making the app visible to more than 2.5 billion potential users worldwide.

2021

February 2021

Based on results from the 2020 AtomicDEX Stress Test, AtomicDEX reaches stable beta status.

March 2021

Komodo completes the first atomic swap between Binance Smart Chain and a non-BEP20 chain.

March 2021

DogeDEX launches as the second decentralized exchange built on the AtomicDEX network. It reached 10,000 users only 10 days after launch.

August 2021

Tokel (TKL) completes the first-ever peer-to-peer initial DEX offering (IDO) on AtomicDEX.

September 2021

AtomicDEX adds simple trading view — a one-click interface with a smart trading engine and real-time price feed information.

2020

March 2020

The initial desktop version of AtomicDEX launches.

September 2020

AtomicDEX adds support for Qtum’s QRC-20 token standard.

October 2020

InstaList feature launches on AtomicDEX, making it possible to store or trade any ERC-20 token. InstaList feature later expands to include BEP-20 tokens and QRC-20 tokens.

December 2020

Komodo holds the second AtomicDEX stress test, with over 156,000 atomic swaps completed. Results show the protocol underpinning AtomicDEX can reach 10,000 swaps/minute.

2019

July 2019

Komodo launches AtomicDEX beta, Komodo's third-generation decentralized exchange.

October 2019

Komodo holds a public AtomicDEX stress test, with over 100,000 atomic swaps attempted in a four-hour timeframe.

2018

February 2018

Komodo holds a public stress test, with a total of 13,900 atomic swaps performed in a 48 hour period.

March 2018

Komodo bridged the gap between Bitcoin-protocol-based coins and Ethereum-based ERC-20 tokens, providing support for 99% of coins and tokens.

May 2018

BarterDEX, a precursor to AtomicDEX, demonstrates an IDO proof-of-concept.

2017

March 2017

Komodo develops a fully functional atomic swap protocol, allowing trustless swaps of UTXO-based coins.

July 2017

The Komodo community tests the beta of the atomic swap protocol and thousands of atomic swaps are performed.

November 2017

Komodo releases the very first GUI for atomic swaps trading, enabling users of all levels of technical proficiency to make trustless, peer-to-peer swaps.

2016-14

September 2016

jl777 finished the beta release of a fully automated and secure atomic swap software and announced this accomplishment on Bitcointalk.
